The confusion surrounding Sai Baba's passing stemmed from a previous event that had occurred 32 years prior. As recalled in Chapter 44, Baba had once drawn his life force into the crown of his head, appearing to be dead for three full days. At that time, everyone believed he was gone and began discussing final rites. However, he suddenly returned to his body, dispelling their anxiety. Because of this past incident, when his breath finally ceased for the last time, his followers were doubtful. They questioned whether it was a similar state of samadhi (trance) or actual death, making them hesitant to proceed with funeral arrangements.
Why were people so confused about whether Baba was in a trance or had actually died?
