Why was the devotee Sapatnekar so distressed by Sai Baba's behavior towards him?

Sapatnekar was deeply distressed because every time he approached Sai Baba to bow, Baba would rebuke him with the words "Chal Hat," meaning "Go away." As described in the Shri Sai Satcharitra Chapter 48, this was particularly painful for him because he observed Baba behaving with extreme love and joy towards all other devotees. This stark contrast made him feel singled out and rejected. He agonized over what he could have done to deserve this, wondering if it was due to his past karma, some hidden sin, or his initial argumentative and doubtful attitude when he first learned about Baba.
