Sapatnekar was deeply distressed because every time he went to bow before Sai Baba, he was met with the harsh rebuke, "Chal Hat," which means "Go away." This treatment made him feel singled out and confused, as he observed Baba behaving with extreme love towards everyone else. As recounted in Chapter 48 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, he agonized over the cause, wondering if it was due to his past karma, some hidden sin, or perhaps a consequence of his initial argumentative and doubtful attitude towards Baba. He lamented that while others experienced a "daily Diwali of joy" in Baba's presence, only dismissal was written on his forehead.
Why was Sapatnekar so distressed and upset with Sai Baba in Shirdi?
