Why was Sai Baba concerned that Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar had stopped performing his father's Shraddha?

📖 Chapter 4

Sai Baba was concerned about Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar's neglect of his father's Shraddha (death anniversary) because he held deep respect for ancestral duties and the continuity of worship. As detailed in Chapter 4, Baba considered Bhagwantrao's father to be a friend. When Bhagwantrao came to Shirdi, Baba pointed out that he had not only stopped the Shraddha but also the regular food offerings (Naivedya) to the family's idol of Vitthal. Baba stated, "He never offers food (Naivedya); he keeps me hungry too. He keeps Vitthal hungry too, that’s why I brought him to Shirdi." This shows that Baba saw the neglect of these duties as directly impacting the divine, and he felt it was his responsibility to remind his friend's son and guide him back to the path of devotion and tradition.
