Why was Mamlatdar Dev suspicious when the Sanyasi returned, and what did the Sanyasi ask for on his second visit?

Mamlatdar Dev became suspicious because the Sanyasi returned much earlier than expected. Dev had told him to come back in two to four months, but the Sanyasi reappeared in about a month. This caused Dev to wonder if the Sanyasi had forgotten their previous conversation. As described in Chapter 40, upon arriving at Dev's house, the Sanyasi quickly clarified his intentions. He stated, "I am not in a hurry for money. 'I haven't come for money; today we want a meal.'" He also mentioned that he had two companions with him. Dev, seemingly relieved, welcomed them and invited the three to have a meal at noon.
