Why was it so difficult to determine whether Sai Baba was Hindu or Muslim based on the descriptions in Chapter 7?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 7

Chapter 7 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra explains that it was nearly impossible to classify Sai Baba as either Hindu or Muslim because his life was full of contradictions that defied simple labels. For instance, if one considered him a Hindu, he resided in a mosque. If one called him a Muslim, he maintained a sacred fire (Dhuni), allowed the ringing of bells and blowing of conches, and had his ears pierced. The chapter also notes that while he looked like a Yavana (Muslim) to some, he had the noble marks of a Hindu, and evidence of circumcision was also noted. Ultimately, the text concludes that he was a holy incarnation beyond both religions.
