Why was it considered appropriate for Sai Baba to live by begging for alms?

📖 Chapter 9

Chapter 9 explains that begging for alms was not only appropriate but also a commendable practice for Sai Baba due to his spiritual status as a pure celibate and sanyasi. According to the scriptures mentioned, cooking food is prohibited for ascetics, and their sustenance is entrusted to householders. This practice allows householders to fulfill their sacred duty of offering food before eating themselves. Furthermore, the text clarifies that only one who has renounced desires for wealth, fame, and family and has the firm realization that "The whole universe is my home" truly has the right to live on alms, a state Baba embodied.
