Why was Dev suspicious when the Sanyasi returned, and what did the Sanyasi actually want on his second visit?

Dev's suspicion arose because the Sanyasi returned to Dahanu in about a month, much earlier than the two to four months Dev had suggested. As Chapter 40 recounts, Dev felt doubtful and wondered, 'Did he forget what was said earlier?'. However, the Sanyasi quickly allayed his fears by approaching him and stating, 'I haven't come for money; today we want a meal.' He revealed that he was not there to ask for donations again but simply wanted Dev to provide a meal for himself and his two companions, which Dev, calling it a pleasure, readily agreed to.
