Why was Boss Dharamsee so hesitant to eat the grapes that Sai Baba offered him?

Firstly, he had a personal preference for seedless grapes and disliked the seeded variety being offered. Secondly, his doctor had specifically forbidden him from eating unwashed fruit, and it felt improper to wash them himself in that sacred space.
