Why was Boss Dharamsee so hesitant to eat the grapes that Sai Baba offered him?

📖 Chapter 35

Boss Dharamsee's hesitation stemmed from several internal conflicts, as detailed in Chapter 35. Firstly, he had a personal preference for seedless grapes and disliked the seeded variety being offered. Secondly, his doctor had specifically forbidden him from eating unwashed fruit, and it felt improper to wash them himself in that sacred space. This created a dilemma where he felt it was difficult to eat them but also felt it would be disrespectful to reject an offering from a saint. His internal turmoil grew to the point where he began to doubt Baba's abilities, thinking, "If he is a saint, how does he not know That I do not like these grapes?"
