Why was a new biography of Sai Baba needed, and what makes the Shri Sai Satcharita so significant?

The preface in Chapter 0 explains that while works by poets like Shri Dasganu Maharaj existed, they were not comprehensive enough for a detailed Parayan or Saptah of a single saint's life. The Shri Sai Satcharita, written by Annasaheb Dabholkar, filled this gap. Its significance lies in being a recent, detailed, inspirational, and grace-filled poetic biography suitable for these devotional readings. Along with the older Guru Charitra, it is considered one of only two such comprehensive Guru biographies in Maharashtra, making it an invaluable text for devotees.
