Why is it preferable to write a Guru's biography in poetry rather than prose for spiritual practices like Parayans?

📖 Chapter 0

The text strongly advises that for spiritual practices such as study, recitation (Parayan), and weekly recitations (Saptahs), detailed poetic biographies are the most suitable format. As explained in Chapter 0, the primary reason is that poetry is memorized quickly and easily, remains in one's memory, and can be recalled when needed. Prose, on the other hand, is difficult to memorize. Consequently, there is no established tradition of performing Parayans or Saptahs of prose biographies. This preference for verse is why much of ancient Sanskrit literature is in poetic form, making it the customary and superior medium for performing Guru service through recitation.
