Why does the text discourage the desire for a heavenly abode, and what does it describe as the true divine state?

📖 Chapter 37

In Chapter 37, the Shri Sai Satcharitra questions the pursuit of the conventional heavenly home. It argues that this abode, often attained through difficult sacrifices and penance, is merely a place for sensual enjoyment and crucially lacks the remembrance of Lord Narayana or the chanting of Govinda's name. Instead, the text defines the true 'divine heavenly state' as one free from mental grief, disease, sorrow, hunger, and thirst. It is a state where there is no fear of death or the duality of 'do's and don'ts,' and where the soul moves about completely fearless. This superior state is the Cosmic Self-form (Virat), which is omnipresent and not a separate location.
