Why does the scripture seem to devalue the pursuit of heaven in favor of life on Earth?

📖 Chapter 37

The Shri Sai Satcharitra, in Chapter 37, presents a nuanced argument that prioritizes spiritual realization over the sensual pleasures of a temporary heaven. It questions the desire for a heavenly abode that is attained through difficult rituals but lacks the essential element of devotion and remembrance of God. The text argues that the sensual pleasure found in heaven is fundamentally no different from worldly pleasure, comparing Indra in his celestial garden to a donkey in a dung-heap. Furthermore, it points out that one inevitably falls from heaven once their merit is exhausted. In contrast, the earth-world, despite its fleeting nature, is considered profoundly important because it offers the unique opportunity to attain a permanent, fearless state by offering every action to God.
