Why does the author pause the main narrative to tell the story of how he was named 'Hemadpant'?

📖 Chapter 2

The author explains this decision in Chapter 2. He notes that at the end of every chapter, the words "Composed by the devotee Hemadpant" appear, which naturally raises the reader's curiosity about who this person is. To satisfy this curiosity, and as an inspiration he attributes to Sai, he decides to tell the sub-story of his naming. He frames it as a promise he made to the listeners and believes that hearing this story will reveal its appropriateness. Before diving into the story, he describes his own former character as mischievous, cynical, and prone to argumentation, setting the stage for the transformation that the naming story will likely reveal.
