Why does the author of the Satcharitra dismiss the desire for a conventional heaven?

📖 Chapter 37

The author dismisses the conventional idea of heaven because it is seen merely as a place for sensual enjoyment, which is ultimately transient and not the true goal. Chapter 37 explicitly states, "The heavenly home is merely a place for sensual enjoyment; we do not need it." The text questions the value of any place, even heaven, where the chanting of Govinda's name and the remembrance of Lord Narayana are absent. The true divine state is described as being free from worldly afflictions and fear, a state of being rather than a location attained through difficult sacrifices.
