Why does the author find it so difficult to describe Sai Baba's greatness in Chapter 49?

📖 Chapter 49

The author of the Sai Satcharitra expresses in Chapter 49 that describing the Sadguru's greatness is an impossible task for human language. He notes that even the ancient Vedas and Puranas grew weary trying to praise the Sadguru, suggesting that silence is the most appropriate response. He describes Sai's divine play (Leela) as inexpressible and his art as inconceivable. The chapter delves into the philosophy of speech, explaining that where the highest forms of speech (Para, Pashyanti, Madhyama) fail to articulate, the ordinary spoken word (Vaikhari) stands no chance of capturing the Guru's unfathomable nature. Despite this, Sai's qualities compel him to write.
