Chapter 16 draws a profound distinction between the gifts of a wish-fulfilling gem (Chintamani) and the grace of a Sadguru. A Chintamani can only grant what a person thinks of or desires, which is limited to the realm of worldly and mental constructs. The Sadguru, however, is described as far more generous because He gives the 'Unthinkable Object' to His devotee. As this chapter explains, this 'Unthinkable Object' is Brahman, the ultimate reality, which is beyond thought and desire. This gift of Self-realization is something no material object or worldly power can bestow, making the Guru the most generous giver in all three worlds.
Why does Chapter 16 assert that a Sadguru is more generous than a Chintamani, the wish-fulfilling gem?
