The texts emphasize the profound difficulty in describing the Supreme Divinity because He is beyond all limitations and dualities. Chapter 4 explains that the four levels of speech—Para, Pashyanti, Madhyama, and Vaikhari—get tired of describing Him. Even the Vedas, in their cleverness, failed and had to resort to negation, saying 'Not this, Not this' (Neti-Neti). The six Shastras and Puranas were similarly exhausted. The author compares this to how the tongue knows the taste of sugar but cannot translate the experience into words. Therefore, it is concluded that in narrating Him, firm silence is best, and one can only speak of His qualities when the Sadguru Himself provides the inspiration.
Why do the scriptures suggest that describing the Supreme God is an impossible task for the human intellect and speech?
