As detailed in Chapter 23, saints take birth on this earth out of benevolence, specifically for the salvation of what the text calls 'dull-witted souls.' This act of incarnation is described as a form of grace from the Almighty. The chapter further explains that one cannot simply decide to appreciate these divine beings and their stories. A prerequisite is having a store of merit (Punya) from past actions. It is only when one possesses such merit that a genuine desire will arise in their heart to hear the stories of saints, a process which is said to lead to happiness and contentment.
Why do saints incarnate on earth, and what is required to truly appreciate their stories?
