Why didn't the author of the Satcharitra visit the saint Pir Maulana when he was stationed in Bandra?

📖 Chapter 21

In Chapter 21, the author, Hemadpant, recounts his personal experience of when he was the Magistrate in Bandra. A well-known Siddha named Pir Maulana resided there, and his servant, Inus, persistently urged Hemadpant to come for his darshan. However, Hemadpant admits that he never went. He explains his reasoning at the time was a matter of pride, thinking, "Why should I go? Should I be pressured by others and lose my own prestige?" He later reflects on this decision, attributing his failure to visit the saint to his own "ill-luck" which stood in the way, illustrating the principle that one needs good fortune to get the company of saints.
