Why didn't Hemadpant, the original author, finish the Shri Sai Satcharitra with the promised summary?

According to Chapter 53, the original author, Hemadpant (Dabholkar), had promised to conclude the book with a summary but was unable to do so. This was not due to forgetfulness, but because of his sudden and unexpected death, which left the work incomplete. The chapter explains that while it's a general rule for an author to complete their own book, there are exceptions, and in this case, Baba's will was considered more powerful than anyone's personal plans. Hemadpant's passing grieved everyone, and the task of completing the book, including the missing summary, fell to another devotee.
