Why did the author feel that silence was the best way to praise Sai Baba, yet he still decided to write the Satcharitra?

📖 Chapter 49

The author's dilemma is a central theme in Chapter 49. He initially believed that 'maintaining silence is the real praise of the Sadguru' because even the Vedas and Puranas grew weary trying to describe His greatness, and he felt his own speech was inadequate. However, he explains that each quality of Sai was so compelling that it made him forget his resolution of silence. He compares this to tasting a sweet delicacy and feeling an irresistible urge to share it with friends and listeners so that the 'bliss of the self-essence doubles.' Therefore, despite knowing Sai's divine play is ultimately inexpressible, the desire to share this spiritual feast with other devotees motivated him to write the book.
