Why did Sai Baba want Madhavrao to accompany Mirikar, and what happened when Mirikar initially refused?

📖 Chapter 22

Sai Baba instructed Madhavrao (Shama) to accompany Mirikar to Chitali as a form of protection for Mirikar. As recounted in Chapter 22, after giving Mirikar Udi and his blessings, Baba called Madhavrao back and told him to get ready and go with Mirikar. However, Mirikar initially dismissed the idea, telling Madhavrao it was an unnecessary trouble for him to come so far. When Madhavrao relayed this to Baba, Baba responded with a profound teaching: "What of ours is lost? ...as is one’s faith, so is the resulting fruit." This statement highlighted that the benefit of the Guru's instruction depends on the recipient's faith and obedience. Fortunately, Mirikar had a change of heart, realizing he should have obeyed Baba's words, and then requested Madhavrao to join him after all.
