According to Chapter 4, Sai Baba said this because Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar had neglected the spiritual duties established by his late father. Baba stated that Bhagwantrao's father was a friend of his. After the father's passing, Bhagwantrao stopped the household worship and food offerings (Naivedya) to their idol of Vitthal and even skipped performing the annual Shraddha (death anniversary rites). Baba metaphorically explained that by doing this, Bhagwantrao was keeping both Vitthal and Baba himself hungry. Therefore, Baba said he pulled his friend's son to Shirdi to remind him of these duties and guide him back to the path of worship.
Why did Sai Baba say he was keeping him hungry and had to pull Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar to Shirdi?
