Why did Sai Baba light so many lamps, and what happened when he was denied oil by the shopkeepers?

The source material from Chapter 0 explains that Maharaj was fond of lighting many lamps in the Masjid and temples. It clarifies that this was not to satisfy a personal whim, but was motivated by a desire to do good for the people. For some time, he obtained oil from local oil-men and grocers. However, one day they refused to give him any. This did not deter Maharaj. He simply filled the lamps with water and lit them as usual. The lamps miraculously burned all night, which amazed the people and solidified their faith in him.
