Why did Sai Baba emphasize the path of Devotion (Bhakti) over the path of Knowledge (Jnana) for most of his disciples?

📖 Chapter 19

According to the teachings found in Chapter 19, Sai Baba recognized that while Knowledge (Jnana) is the greatest of all paths, it is also fraught with challenges. He compared it to a Ramphal fruit, which requires great patience to ripen properly on the tree; otherwise, it becomes pungent. A man of knowledge is not fearless and must achieve victory over Siddhis (powers) without any negligence, symbolizing the 'fear of falling.' Because of these difficulties, Baba, described as a 'Cloud of Mercy,' mostly explained and advised the easier path of Devotion (Bhakti) and the chanting of the Name (Namasmaran) to his disciples. He likened Bhakti to a Sitaphal fruit—an easy, sweet, and juicy means to spiritual realization that requires little effort yet is invaluable.
