Why did Sai Baba emphasize the path of Devotion and chanting for the common people, even though he considered Knowledge to be the greatest path?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 19

Although Baba preached that Knowledge (Jnana) is the greatest of all, he recognized its difficulty. As described in Chapter 19, he advised the path of Devotion (Bhakti) for the common people because it is an easier and more accessible means to spiritual progress. He compared Devotion to a Sitaphal (Custard apple), which is juicy, sweet, and requires little effort. In contrast, Knowledge is like a Ramphal, which requires great patience to ripen correctly. Therefore, Sai, whom the text calls the 'Cloud of Mercy,' mostly explained Devotion and the chanting of the Name (Namasmaran) to his disciples as a way to break the bonds of their worldly existence.
