Why did Sai Baba continue the practice of begging for food, and what was its deeper meaning according to Chapter 9?

📖 Chapter 9

As explained in Chapter 9, Sai Baba's lifelong practice of begging for food was not out of necessity but was performed for the profound spiritual welfare of his devotees. The Satcharitra states that this act was for the removal of the 'Panchasuna' (five traditional sins incurred in a household) and other sins of the people from whom he begged. By accepting alms, he was purifying their households and their karma. This habit, which he followed until the very end of his life, was a merciful act intended to benefit others. Chapter 9 connects this to the broader teaching that Sai, or God, is pervaded everywhere and resides in all beings, and his actions were a constant lesson in this truth.
