Why did Sai Baba believe that fasting was detrimental to achieving spiritual goals?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 32

Sai Baba considered fasting detrimental because he believed a satisfied body was a prerequisite for a peaceful mind and effective devotion. Chapter 32 explains his reasoning: without the strength derived from food, the senses become weak and lose their capacity for spirituality. He questioned how the eyes could see God, the tongue describe His glory, or the ears hear His praise on an empty stomach. For Baba, a hungry stomach leads to a restless mind, making it impossible to realize God. He felt the discomfort and weakness caused by fasting were significant obstacles to any form of spiritual practice.
