Why did Sai Baba ask for Dakshina (offerings) from his devotees?

📖 Chapter 14

According to the teachings, Sai Baba's primary intention in asking for Dakshina was the purification of his devotees' hearts. Chapter 14 explains that many followers were entirely attached to the world, and Baba believed that through the act of giving, their hearts could become pure. This practice was a technique to help lift greed-oriented people from what is described as the "pit of greed." The scriptures, such as the Shruti, also support the giving of Dakshina as a means for both worldly gain and spiritual liberation, so the act was for the devotee's own benefit.
