Why did Maharaj stop giving out medicine and start giving Udi instead?

The transition from giving medicine to giving Udi (ash) marked a significant point in Maharaj's ministry. Chapter 0 provides a personal explanation from Maharaj himself. He confided in a writer whom he called 'Kaka,' stating, "I used to give medicine to people before. Later, I stopped giving medicine and started saying 'Hari Hari', and while saying Hari Hari, I met Hari." This suggests the shift was a conscious spiritual evolution, moving from physical remedies to a practice rooted in divine name-chanting and faith, symbolized by the distribution of blessed Udi, which people also found to be beneficial.
