Why did Dev become suspicious when the Sanyasi returned, and what did the Sanyasi request on this second visit?

Dev's suspicion was aroused because the Sanyasi returned much earlier than expected. Chapter 40 explains that Dev had told him to come back in two to four months, but the Sanyasi reappeared in about a month. This premature arrival made Dev doubt the Sanyasi's intentions. However, on this second visit, the Sanyasi did not ask for money. Instead, he simply stated, "I haven't come for money; today we want a meal." He requested food for himself and his two companions, a request to which Dev agreed, inviting them to dine at noon.
