Why did Damu Shet Kasar take a vow related to the Ram Navami festival, and what did it entail?

The reason for Damu Shet Kasar's vow is a touching story of faith and gratitude, as recounted in Chapter 0. Damu Shet was very unhappy as he was childless despite having two wives. On the advice of Ra. Govindrao Sapkar, he sought Maharaj's blessing. After Maharaj gave his blessing, Damu Shet was blessed with a son. Overjoyed and with his faith firmly fixed on Maharaj, he made a solemn vow. This vow, detailed in Chapter 0, consisted of two parts: bringing a new ceremonial flag for the Ram Navami procession each year, and feeding all the Fakirs who gathered for the festival on that day.
