Why did Cholkar decide to stop eating sugar, and how did this relate to Baba's instructions about tea?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 15

Cholkar's decision to stop eating sugar was a form of self-imposed penance. According to Chapter 15, after he passed his examination with Baba's grace, he was unable to immediately travel to Shirdi to fulfill his vow of distributing sugar candy due to financial constraints. To maintain the sanctity of his delayed vow, he gave up sugar, treating it as an "inedible substance" and even drinking his tea without it. This personal sacrifice became deeply significant when he finally visited Shirdi. After Cholkar fulfilled his vow, Baba specifically told his host to give him "cups of tea, well-filled with sugar." This instruction was a direct and miraculous acknowledgment from Baba, proving that He was aware of Cholkar's secret, long-term sacrifice and that his devotion had been fully received.
