Why did Bapusaheb Buti feel that the lakhs of rupees spent on the mansion would be wasted when Baba fell ill?

Bapusaheb Buti felt the money spent on the mansion would be wasted because, for him, the entire project's value was contingent on Sai Baba's presence and participation. As Chapter 39 explains, when Baba fell seriously ill, Buti's heart was troubled. He thought, "After Baba has left his body, what is the use of Murlidhar or the house? What is the use of the mansion or the temple?" He feared that if Baba's feet never touched the temple, the entire structure would be devoid of its intended spiritual purpose, making the significant financial investment seem futile and meaningless in his eyes.
