Why did Bapusaheb Buti become so anxious about the mansion he was building as Baba's health declined?

📖 Chapter 39

Bapusaheb Buti became deeply anxious and uneasy as Sai Baba fell seriously ill because he feared his entire project would become meaningless. According to Chapter 39, Buti began to regret the lakhs of rupees spent on the mansion. His heart was troubled with thoughts like, "Will Baba's feet ever touch this temple now?" and "After Baba has left his body, what is the use of Murlidhar or the house?" The possibility that Baba would pass away before ever occupying the space, rendering the grand temple and mansion useless, caused him immense worry and regret.
