Why did Balasaheb Deo make a vow to wait for Sai's command before reading the Dnyaneshwari?

Balasaheb Deo made a vow to wait for Sai Baba's direct order because he was completely frustrated and distressed by his repeated failures to read the Dnyaneshwari. Chapter 41 explains that despite his strong intent, he could not maintain the practice without interruption. He found that other books could be read regularly, but not the Dnyaneshwari. Feeling defeated after even his resolution to read a mere five verses daily failed, he decided to surrender the initiative entirely. He made a firm resolve, stating, "Only when Sai Himself gives love And says 'Read,' then will I start without any confusion." This was an act of complete faith, placing the responsibility for starting this spiritual practice at his Guru's feet.
