Why did Baba insist that the flour from the ground wheat be thrown on the village boundary?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 1

Baba's instruction to throw the flour on the village boundary was not a whimsical or punishing act but the very purpose of the entire exercise. As Chapter 1 explains, the wheat he ground was purely symbolic; it represented the cholera epidemic that was plaguing the village. By grinding the wheat into flour, he was metaphorically destroying the disease itself. He then ordered the women to cast this 'flour' on the 'Shiwar' (village boundary) to expel the epidemic from the community. The text confirms the success of this act, stating that once the flour was thrown near the stream at the boundary, "the disease began to recede" and "the bad days ended immediately." It was a demonstration of Baba's inconceivable skill in protecting his people.
