Why did Baba advocate for the path of Devotion for most people, even though he considered Knowledge to be the greatest path?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 19

Although Baba acknowledged that Knowledge (Jnana) is the greatest of all paths, he primarily advised the path of Devotion (Bhakti) for the common people. The reasoning for this, explained in Chapter 19, lies in the inherent difficulty of the path of Knowledge. Baba compared Jnana to a Ramphal, a fruit that requires great patience to ripen perfectly and tastes pungent if it falls. This path has the 'fear of falling,' where a man of knowledge must be vigilant and overcome powers (Siddhis) without any negligence. Because of these challenges, Sai, the 'Cloud of Mercy,' mostly explained Devotion and the chanting of the Name, which he likened to an easy and sweet Sitaphal, as a more accessible means for his devotees.
