Although Amir Shakkar experienced the rare fortune of close companionship with Sai Baba, he eventually grew weary of the confinement in the Chavadi. Chapter 22 explains that after nine months, the stay began to feel like a prison to him. His mind desired freedom and rebelled against the dependency of being confined to one place. Feeling that he had "enough of this prison," he made the decision to leave without seeking Sai Baba's permission. Abandoning his assigned place, he went to Kopergaon and stayed in a Dharmashala. The text then describes a significant event that occurred there: Amir encountered a Fakir on the verge of death from thirst. When Amir gave him water, the Fakir immediately became lifeless.
Why did Amir Shakkar leave the Chavadi, and what happened immediately after he left?
