Why did Amir Shakkar agree to live in the miserable Chavadi for nine months despite his rheumatism?

Amir Shakkar endured a nine-month stay in the wretched Chavadi out of complete faith in Sai Baba's command. Although he was suffering from rheumatism and the external conditions were contrary to his health, he possessed a certain internal faith. Chapter 22 states that Baba's firm words were his only medicine. He was told not to worry about the wind, rain, or dampness. Amir accepted Baba's word as 'Great Prasad' and, because of his unwavering faith, he stayed there happily, and everything ultimately went well for him. His obedience superseded his physical discomfort.
