Why are some works, like those by Shri Dasganu Maharaj, considered less suitable for a Parayan focused on a single saint?

While one can perform a Parayan of the complete works by great poets like Shri Dasganu Maharaj, such as the Shri Bhaktalilamrut, these are not ideal for a devotee wishing to focus on a single saint's life. The reason, as explained in Chapter 0, is that the biographies contained within these larger collections are generally not comprehensive or detailed. They often take up only two or three pages, which is insufficient for an in-depth study or a dedicated Saptah (week-long reading). For a proper Parayan of a single saint, a more detailed and substantial biography is required.
