The three uninvited guests were Sai Baba in the guise of a Sanyasi, along with two unnamed companions. Their presence was highly significant because it was the fulfillment of the promise Baba had made to Dev. As explained in Chapter 40, Baba explicitly told Dev he would come for the meal and bring two others with him. Although Dev and his household served them, a "veil of Maya" prevented Dev from recognizing Baba.
