Initially, Dixit, feeling helpless in Nagar, approached Balasaheb Mirikar and his father, Kakasaheb Mirikar, for assistance in finding a companion. While they deliberated, the crucial intervention came from Nanasahib Panshe and Appasahib Gadre. As Chapter 51 recounts, they happened to be in Nagar for a horse show and providentially saw Madhavrao Deshpande arrive. Recognizing him as 'the priest of Shirdi,' they immediately connected him with Dixit.
