Who were the key individuals accompanying Sai Baba during the Chavadi procession and what were their roles?

📖 Chapter 37

Several key devotees had specific, honored roles during the Chavadi procession. Chapter 37 describes this arrangement in detail. Tatya Patil, who affectionately called Baba 'Mama', would hold Baba's left hand, while Mhalasapati held His right hand. Bapusaheb Jog had the duty of holding the umbrella over Baba's head throughout the procession. Additionally, there were chowrie-bearers fanning Baba from both sides, a mace-bearer walking ahead announcing His name, and heralds calling out with love. The horse Shyamakarna, fully adorned, also led the way, showcasing the deep love and organized devotion of His followers.
