Who were Sai Baba's three earliest devotees in Shirdi, and what was their role in the community?

📖 Chapter 0

Upon his arrival in Shirdi, Maharaj was introduced by Mhalasapati to his companions, Kashiram Shimpi and Appa Jagle. As Chapter 0 explains, these three men—Mhalasapati, Kashiram, and Appa—became his first and most devoted followers in the village. Prior to Baba's arrival, these three were already known for their service to holy people. They would serve and look after the saints, Gosavis, Bairagis, and Fakirs who frequently came to the busy village of Shirdi, providing hospitality according to their capacity. This pre-existing dedication to service naturally extended to Maharaj, whom they came to revere completely.
