Who were Sai Baba's first devotees in Shirdi, and in what specific ways did they serve him?

πŸ“– Chapter 0

As explained in Chapter 0, upon arriving in Shirdi, Sai Baba first met Mhalasapati in the Khandoba temple. Mhalasapati then introduced him to his companions, Kashiram Shimpi and Appa Jagle, and all three became his total devotees. They had a practice of serving saints who came to the village. Kashiram, in particular, served Maharaj with his body, mind, and wealth. He stitched a green kafni and cap for Baba, took a vow to provide chillum, tobacco, and firewood for the Dhuni, and would even offer his entire money bag for Baba to take from as he wished.
