Who were Sai Baba's earliest devotees in Shirdi and what forms of service did they offer?

Chapter 0 introduces Sai Baba's first devotees in Shirdi. Mhalasapati, who first named him, brought him into the village and introduced him to his companions, Kashiram Shimpi and Appa Jagle. These three men had a practice of serving saints and fakirs who visited the busy village. The chapter notes they all became total devotees of Maharaj. Kashiram's service was particularly detailed; he vowed to provide chillum, tobacco, and firewood for Baba's Dhuni.
