Damu Anna and Mavshibai were two of Sai Baba's devoted followers. Chapter 24 states that Anna was over fifty years old, and Mavshibai, a widow whose original name was Venubai Kaujalgi, was also of a mature age. Their humorous confrontation occurred while they were both simultaneously performing service for Baba. Anna was pressing Baba's left hand while Mavshibai was vigorously massaging Baba's stomach.
