Based on the account in Chapter 0, Sai Baba's initial devotees were Mhalasapati, Kashiram Shimpi, and Appa Jagle. These three men were already known for providing hospitality to saints and fakirs. Of these three, Kashiram's service is highlighted for being excellent, offered with his body, mind, and wealth. The text explicitly mentions several of his contributions: he stitched and gave Maharaj a green kafni and a green cap. More significantly, Kashiram took a vow to provide Maharaj with chillum, tobacco, and firewood for his Dhuni. He also provided money and would even place his entire money bag before Maharaj, asking him to take whatever he wished.
Who were Baba's initial devotees in Shirdi, and how did Kashiram Shimpi, in particular, demonstrate his service?
